Bugs Bunny is an animated cartoon character who debuted in the official version of  A Wild Hare this day in 1940. He’s an anthropomorphic gray hare or rabbit who is famous for his flippant, insouciant personality, his portrayal as a trickster and his catch phrase: “Eh….What’s up doc?”

Created by the staff of what became Warner Bros, he was voiced by Mel Blanc and became an American icon. Bugs has appeared in more films than any other cartoon character and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. (from Wikipedia)
